Substitute Youth Services Advisor
Are you someone who enjoys working with customers and can quickly help them connect with their favorite interests and information needs?
We are looking for a resourceful and creative individual to serve our diverse community. This position involves extensive interaction with the public, and requires the ability to provide customer service to multiple audiences at multiple service points. The majority of time will be spent serving youth and their families in Kids’ World and Hub (Teen) service points.
The position would work best for someone who can work well independently or with a team, shows initiative, and would like to assist with program development and delivery as needed. The position may include assisting with outreach opportunities as needed.
Requirements & Skills:
- Positive and welcoming communication skills in order to excel in Our Culture
- Familiarity with children’s and teen literature and media
- Experience with Mac, PC and the internet
Preferred qualifications include experience in:
- Developing and presenting youth programs including storytimes
- Working with youth and multicultural audience
Education:
Bachelor degree or Associates degree with 2 years of equivalent work experience.
Hours and Scheduling:
Part-time position, approximately 4-20 hours per week. Flexibility in scheduling is required as this position provides service coverage for staff who are on vacation, ill, etc.
One Saturday per month required from 12-8 p.m.
Salary and Benefits:
Starting salary $17.39 - $20.46/hour depending on qualifications
